" Because you are special* to me, and I love you, I gladly give up other peoples in exchange for you; They are trivial by comparison to your weighty significance. " _Isaiah 43:4* (The Voice)

{ Hillsong Colour Conference 2013: Worship - J. Gillies }

  • Learn to let God speak to you
  • Through the songs, He wants to establish His kingdom in and through us
  • It's hard to understand the how when you do not understand the why
  • Nothing is better than having clear directions
  • When you do not have vision, it can be difficult and you can be guessing sometimes
  • When you honor your leadership, there is a blessing that comes through that
  • Worship leadership comes down to credibility, and it is built through consistency and trust
  • Have your leader to know that you have their backs and you want to deliver the absolute best for the church and the trust comes in constant deliverance
  • Carry what your leaders care about and that empowers them to empower you
  • You can lead worship but you have to have a trust
  • Anybody can sing a song but you have start building a rap-our with the congregation
  • Have the crowd to trust you to take them to the right place which is Jesus
  • Be there to serve His people and have their best interests in your heart
  • Lead them to where Jesus is, and get their eyes off their circumstance and week, and put it on to Jesus
  • Have a consistency of turning up
  • When you are a new face, your leadership style has to be invitational and not forceful - "Would you..."
  • Come from a place of humility and people respond to that
  • It is not how well you can sing, but if you do not understand simple leadership principles you can sabotage yourself and it takes a long time to heal that from that set back
  • One thing to think about is sow what you want to reap
  • If you are in a service, be the person you want to lead - Be the first one to do it
  • There are no shortcuts and you cannot cheat the system with God
  • If you sow good followship and you lead leadership
  • Obedience is a massive thing and the trust will come through that
  • If people they can trust you they will give you more opportunities
  • Be faithful in what you have been given
  • Whatever God gives you, it is a test
  • Do your very best and if you do your best, it is God's way
  • Do it well and He can trust you with more
  • There is no fast track
  • Be consistent with the small and see how God can grow it in His hands
  • Have a reminder why you are doing this and why you are not doing this for
  • Keep your prescriptive healthy and on track - Not the details but the core
  • What God has placed in your hands, be sure to stay on mission, being faithful what He has given you
  • You are on mission wherever you are, keeping in your head that God has given you this whole life to outwork what He wants and needs done
  • With every opportunity you get to talk to someone, than you are going to do your absolutely best
  • The more you inmerse yourself in what you care about, the more you remind yourself of what your core value and love it, and than you get more excited about it
  • Matt 28
  • It is a mission but a co-mission that God is already at work with people's lives that we are here to partner with Him
  • You are on mission but in partnership with God, and He is already doing something
  • The platform is God's territory, and we are there to give our 100 percent and God is at work, where else our platform is outside of that
  • People are watching you
  • Our job is not finished when we step out of the platform
  • They want you to do the right thing and show them the right way
  • Because you are on the platform you have been entrusted, and that means we are also trusted to show the people the right way off the platform
  • Be examples on how people wants to live
  • Make sure that it is never chalk and cheese - It is not a show
  • What is core in here, is core out the platform, and if those two things drift apart, we're in trouble
  • There is a real power to be connected and planted in a local church
  • The best thing to remember about any platform that you are on, it is for service, it is for serving
  • Understand that we are here to serve
  • "I would rather preach to people's mondays, than to people's sundays." (B. Houston)
  • The platform is for service and not stardom
  • When you say to God, when it is my time to serve, that is your time to shine
  • We do not seek to be served
  • Come from an attitude of serving
  • Jesus is all about the individual that He took time for
  • You are there to equip and empower, be there to help
  • Do the very best with what you have
