{ Repost: 30 things to stop doing to yourself by marcandangel.com }

"When you stop chasing the wrong things,
you give the right things a chance to catch you."

As Maria Robinson once said,
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,
but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”

Nothing could be closer to the truth.
But before you can begin this process of transformation,
you have to stop doing the things that have been holding you back.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

1. Stop spending time with the wrong people.
Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.
If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you.
You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.
Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.
And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best,
but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends.

2. Stop running from your problems.
Face them head on. No, it won’t be easy.
There is no person in the world capable of flawlessly handling every punch thrown at them.
We aren’t supposed to be able to instantly solve problems.
That’s not how we’re made.
In fact, we’re made to get upset, sad, hurt, stumble and fall.
Because that’s the whole purpose of living –
to face problems, learn, adapt, and solve them over the course of time.
This is what ultimately molds us into the person we become.

3. Stop lying to yourself.
You can lie to anyone else in the world, but you can’t lie to yourself.
Our lives improve only when we take chances,
and the first and most difficult chance we can take is to be honest with ourselves.

4. Stop putting your own needs on the back burner.
The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much,
and forgetting that you are special too.
Yes, help others; but help yourself too.
If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you,
that moment is now.

5. Stop trying to be someone you’re not.
One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you like everyone else. Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger,
but they will never be you.
Don’t change so people will like you.
Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.

6. Stop trying to hold onto the past.
You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last one.

7. Stop being scared to make a mistake.
Doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing.
Every success has a trail of failures behind it, and every failure is leading towards success.
You end up regretting the things you did NOT do far more than the things you did.

8. Stop berating yourself for old mistakes.
We may love the wrong person and cry about the wrong things, but no matter how things go wrong,
one thing is for sure, mistakes help us find the person and things that are right for us.
We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past.
But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles,
and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.
Every single thing that has ever happened in your life,
 is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come.

9. Stop trying to buy happiness.
Many of the things we desire are expensive.
But the truth is, the things that really satisfy us are totally free
– love, laughter and working on our passions.

10. Stop exclusively looking to others for happiness.
If you’re not happy with who you are on the inside,
you won’t be happy in a long-term relationship with anyone else either.
You have to create stability in your own life first.
before you can share it with someone else.

11. Stop being idle.
Don’t think too much or you’ll create a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place.
Evaluate situations and take decisive action.
You cannot change what you refuse to confront.
Making progress involves risk. Period!
You can’t make it to second base with your foot on first.

12. Stop thinking you’re not ready.
Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises.
Because most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones,
which means we won’t feel totally comfortable at first.

13. Stop getting involved in relationships for the wrong reasons.
Relationships must be chosen wisely.
It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.
There’s no need to rush.
If something is meant to be, it will happen
– in the right time, with the right person, and for the best reason.
Fall in love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely
.
14. Stop rejecting new relationships just because old ones didn’t work.
In life you’ll realize that there is a purpose for everyone you meet.
Some will test you, some will use you and some will teach you.
But most importantly, some will bring out the best in you.

15. Stop trying to compete against everyone else.
Don’t worry about what others doing better than you.
Concentrate on beating your own records every day.
Success is a battle between YOU and YOURSELF only.

16. Stop being jealous of others.
Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own.
Ask yourself this: “What’s something I have that everyone wants?”

17. Stop complaining and feeling sorry for yourself.
Life’s curveballs are thrown for a reason
– to shift your path in a direction that is meant for you.
You may not see or understand everything the moment it happens, and it may be tough.
But reflect back on those negative curveballs thrown at you in the past.
You’ll often see that eventually they led you to a better place, person, state of mind, or situation.
So smile!  Let everyone know that today you are a lot stronger than you were yesterday,
and you will be.

18. Stop holding grudges.
Don’t live your life with hate in your heart.
You will end up hurting yourself more than the people you hate.
Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.”
It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.”
Forgiveness is the answer… let go, find peace, liberate yourself!
And remember, forgiveness is not just for other people, it’s for you too.
If you must, forgive yourself, move on and try to do better next time.

19. Stop letting others bring you down to their level.
Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs.

20. Stop wasting time explaining yourself to others.
Your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe it anyway.
Just do what you know in your heart is right.

21. Stop doing the same things over and over without taking a break.
The time to take a deep breath is when you don’t have time for it.
If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.
Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.

22. Stop overlooking the beauty of small moments
Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and discover they were the big things.
The best portion of your life will be the small,
nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.

23. Stop trying to make things perfect.
The real world doesn’t reward perfectionists, it rewards people who get things done.

24.Stop following the path of least resistance.
Life is not easy, especially when you plan on achieving something worthwhile.
Don’t take the easy way out.
Do something extraordinary.

25. Stop acting like everything is fine if it isn’t.
It’s okay to fall apart for a little while.
You don’t always have to pretend to be strong,
and there is no need to constantly prove that everything is going well.
You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either
– cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears.
The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.

26. Stop blaming others for your troubles.
The extent to which you can achieve your dreams,
depends on the extent to which you take responsibility for your life.
When you blame others for what you’re going through,
you deny responsibility – you give others power over that part of your life.

27. Stop trying to be everything to everyone.
Doing so is impossible, and trying will only burn you out.

But making one person smile CAN change the world.

Maybe not the whole world, but their world.
So narrow your focus.

28. Stop worrying so much
Worry will not strip tomorrow of its burdens, it will strip today of its joy.
One way to check if something is worth mulling over is to ask yourself this question:
“Will this matter in one year’s time? Three years? Five years?”
If not, then it’s not worth worrying about.

29. Stop focusing on what you don’t want to happen.

Focus on what you do want to happen.
Positive thinking is at the forefront of every great success story.
If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today,
and you pay close attention, you’ll often find that you’re right.

30. Stop being ungrateful.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life.
Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.
Instead of thinking about what you’re missing,
try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.

{ Here is Love.. Pt. 2 }

"Here is Love" by Bethel Live

Here is love, vast as the ocean
Loving kindness as the flood
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom
Shed for us His precious blood

Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten
Throughout Heaven's eternal days

On the mount of crucifixion
Fountains opened deep and wide
Through the floodgates of God's mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide

Grace and love, like mighty rivers
Poured incessant from above
And Heaven's peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love

No love is higher, no love is wider
No love deeper, no love is truer
No love is higher, no love is wider
No love is like Your love, O Lord

{ Open to His plans.. Pt. 2 }

and i wait upon You now,
dedicated to Your will.

let Yours be done in me,
on this very earth as it has in heaven.

so irrevocable and unchanging,
indeed everything centers around You.

nothing is going to hold me back.

{ Open to His plans.. Pt. 1 }

"Be open to God doing things in your life differenttly than you planned."

- V. Osteen

Proverbs 16:9

"Our hearts and minds may plan our own journey and life,
devising our way and path, and what we want to do and live,
but it is the Lord who guards, secures and establishes our steps,
deciding where it will take us, and determining where we will go,
directing our actions, and showing us what to do,
making them sure, and making us able to live it."

{ Second Chance. Pt. 2}

we the redeemed.

our salvation is never worked from the goodwill or good works.
no one is perfect except for our beautiful Saviour.
so do not even think for one second,  that our best in our eyes can save ourselves.

if so, then Christ need not come as the only man that is sinless and pure,
to be the greatest sacrifice to save all mankind.
He was the only chance and hope we got; His death was not in vain.

even with our own sacrifice or blood,
it does not even match up to His worthiness,
not even close.

for He has fulfilled it all, took it all and done it all,
how not can we be moved?
the moment He entered our lifes, He changed everything.

this is restoration to the fullest,
this is love to the greatest,
and this is grace to the undeserving,

we're the people of the second chance.

{ Second Chance. Pt. 1 }

"Second Chance" by Hillsong United

You called my name
Reached out Your hand
Restored my life
And I was redeemed
The moment You entered my life

Amazing grace
Christ gave that day
My life was changed
When from my shoulders
Fell the weight of my sin

So it's with everything I am
I reach out for Your hand
The hope for change
The second chance I've gained

On You I throw my life
Casting all my fears aside
How could greater love than this
Ever possibly exist

Consume my thoughts
As I rest in You
I'm now in love
With a Saviour
Bearing the marks of His love

So I'll wait upon You now
With my hands released to You
Where a little faith's enough
To see mountains lift and move

And I'll wait upon You now
Dedicated to Your will
To this love that will remain
A love that never fails

{ Time for a change once again. }

the year has not ended, and to think so many changes have evolved, chastening to go through, stretches that goes beyond human limitations, and, i yearn for more.

to change and shift my life once again, seeing fit what is truly necessary, what adds value, and what has a God purpose.

the usual tradition of new goals and dreams are normally set during the eve of a brand new year, but on Christmas day, was stirred for yet another transformation from the inside out.

as Dad usually says, it is more important to dress the inside, then the out; eventually it will show. when there is input, there is surely an output.

to be God altered and transformed takes time, and an openness to what He has called and destined each and everyone of us to do. He is constantly upgrading us to levels that no man can take us -- to think we have reached the highest, His hands of grace empowers us for more impossibilities. wow.

everything takes progression and time, and indeed He has pre-selected every opportunity in our lives that will not go to waste. nothing can be altered without His authority, and what He permits usual alines with is never changing character of goodness and lovingkindness.

changes are indeed ahead so is time to take the nearest exit out of our past, and dive into the will and heart of what He wants, rather than of our own.

{ The greatest gift of our lives. }

You are the reason, for the season.

"to a world that was lost,
He gave all He could give,
to show us a reason to live."

{ The chaser becomes chased. }

it is when we begin to let go what we hold on so dearly,
that the chaser becomes the chased.

it is entirely impossible to go after something that is already on our tails,
only one can be followed else it will be just all chasers and no recipients.
now what is the point of that?

hence it is His goodness and mercies that goes on the hunt,
and we're targeted for the rest of our lives.
it is always shadowing us every day, every step and ever time.

let Him follow, pursue and stay close, without end -- Psalm 23:6.

{ I gave my kids a terrible present - J. Kimmel }

this is gold! got to adore the last kid is such a happy camper ain't he?

{ Make a Joyful Sound, it's CHRISTmas! }

for a life was born to save all,
we celebrate You Jesus,
for because You gave,
and gave the best present of them all,

You.

born is our King.

{ Born is The King, it's CHRISTmas! }

Born Is The King (It's Christmas) - Hillsong

Born unto us this day a Savior
Gifted from heaven to a manger
The hope of the world
A light for all mankind
All of the earth rejoice
It’s Christmas time

So lift up your voice and sing out His praise
It’s Christmas
Born is the King, rejoice in the day
It’s Christmas
Make a joyful sound
It’s Christmas
Let His praise resound
It’s Christmas

Goodwill to all the earth
And peace divine
All of the earth rejoice
It’s Christmas time
It’s Christmas time

{ In His time, Don't give up! }

"You can be confident today that every dream God has put in your heart, will come to pass.
Don't give up! Instead, look up and let God show you how your dream can be fulfilled."

- J. Osteen

for You gave, and You will show.
dreams and desires are never lost,
they are just waiting for the perfect God timing to reveal itself.
and everyday we wake up, we're closer than we know it.

"God's grace will give you to the power,
to make it to the finish line.
In His way, and time."

- J. Mullaya

like what Dad usually says:
not only that His grace is astronomical,
but it also empowers us to do the things we cannot do.

{ My Times are in Your Hands.. Pt. 2 }

"My times, my whole life, and my future,
is in Your hands..

I am always in Your care..
and hour by hour, I place my days in Your hand..

beacuse the course of my life,
 is in Your power."

- Psalm 31:15

(Word Remix: NIRV, GNT,  AMP, HCSB, MSG, NLT)

{ My Times are in Your hands.. Pt. 1 }

"Many delays in our lives have a divine origin.
God is rarely ever early, but He is never late according to His timetable.
Relax and believe that your times are in His hands."

- J. Meyer

indeed our time is in Your hands Lord, hence we need not rush or hurry.
but rather, enjoy every moment You have graciously placed in our lives with a purpose.
nothing has ever caught You in surprise, You always had grace on Your mind.
only You knows all things from beginning and end.
so why should we look in the eye of the storm,
where the eye of our beautiful Saviour is forever upon us?

enough with chasing after my own wants, which You may not think is needful.
this is me laying down all my foolish pride, i give You everything Lord;
all that i am has been rightfully and completely, Yours.
always has been, and always will be.

{ Your unfailing love over me again.. }

Unlike the world, God doesn't pin your worth on what you can give,
but He pins your worth on His love for you.

- C. Joy

true, that -- have finally realized, after many many disaapointments and hurts, that generally humans as we are, we tend to only care of personal own and worth at times, thinking giving a bit here and there is good enough to meet the quota or standards of a good mate. glad to have a Best Friend who came to my level, and went all out. (love you J.)

self expectations are definitely doomed to fail, as men's views on others does flutuate rather than having the consistency like His -- only He thinks the very best of us in our worsen state that no men can see hope in. He loves and appreciates every single bit of us because we were created in His perfect image, and because we were created to simply be loved by Him.

He does not see our weakness and leave us to fend for our well being -- He saw a need, and met it. not for a split second or less has He ever had any second thoughts of saving us. where the world sees no hope in, God does and showcase it with His heavenly glory for the them to see and know what men cannot use, God can and will mightily -- for He does not work or see how men does.

He does entirely the opposite with ways and thoughts that are higher than all of us combined. from weakness to strength, confused to secured, shaken to stable, that is how our awesome Father can turn things, situations, people, just, like, that. indeed heaven is inside God.

being a giver is a joy and it has birthed out of innate values that the family has characterized, and yet He has shown me (or rather it is coming to a revelation) that pulling back is actually okay. funny how one finds it extremely hard, (yes, true story) because it is like being someone that you're actually not?

unfortunately, i have not met anyone (besides my gracious folks) who have came close, however there are a rare few that have surprised me in various occasions or two. wells it goes to show that the worth on placing our faith in men, or in Him.

normally in a setting of more than one, i tend to find that being so tightly knitted and all, some may be more than comfortable than the usual, and the initial treatment compared to the current one varies. it becomes so much like a family setting which also means the tendancy of being taken advantage of.

been told that plenty of times, and yet it did not ever hit me till now (yes it is never late to learn), that after a number of unexpected and unfortunate inccidents that happend within a close -proximity, my eyes are widen. funny how it does.. shocking as well, including the stinging, but have learnt one thing:

to just go back to The One who have loved us first, so unfailingly. and because of that first love, we are compelled to the needs of others. it is a constant refueling that never ends, never fails, and never disappoints. for indeed, He has been good to us.

"His love and grace is my deepest and intimate true furfillment that puts an end to all other statisfaction.
So undeserving, yet so willing..

You're unfailing love, over me again.."

{ Lifestyle of Grace. }

{ I AM NEXT! }

‎"There is a portion that God gives to you which no man can touch because it has your name on it
— “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven”. (John 3:27)

When the blessings start coming in, they will come in a net-breaking, boat-sinking style.
So get ready for your blessings and overflowing abundance!"

- J. Prince (Daily Devo)

{ Grace of Thanksgiving.. Pt. 2 }

"Praise the LORD!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever."

- Psalm 106:1 (NLT)

{ Grace of Thanksgiving. Pt. 1 }

after being arrested by not only the amazement of what grace does, but likewise for it's gratitude that comes along with the full revelation, this year has been quite an eventful one -- down to the joy and tears that came with the smiles and cries of 2011.

totally caught off guard but He has been rather faithful in every step and fall which without His hand and saving grace, where would i honestly be? even with the times of doubting and hurting, He has never stopped loving and in fact, loved even more.

there is only one thing that i can be grateful for, and that is truly the consistency of His never failing love and presence in my life, that simply carries us through this life He has sworn to journey with us -- bringing all things undeserved in abundance portions which could only come from Him.

"how marvelous and wonderful is my Savior's love for me?"

{ God is for us. }

{ God is with us. }

it is He who truly reveals all things -- even ones that we deem as truth, which others do not normally view the same, as naturally we go with what is obvious. but it is He who has made us His constant dwelling place, and sees not only the matter, but the heart of it all.

i thank Him to continually increase the gracious gift of discernment (as we are never there yet, no matter the number of times we are on the dot), continue to lead me to differentiate and separate what is spiritual (truth) and flesh (facts), and to also humbly receive what He has showed us -- especially with ones that may not initially be on par with our desire or dreams.

for He has made all things beautiful in His time, all we do now is be at the best position: rest and wait on what He is going to reveal; because with every new journey brings in new excitement and installments that only He knows, and is waiting for the right place and time to bring it to pass.

"i will trust in You, and i will not be afraid.."

God is with us.

{ Word Remix: Proverbs 24:16 }

"Don't interfere with good people's lives;
don't try to get the best of them.
for a righteous man falls seven times,
no matter how many times you trip them up
God-loyal people don't stay down long.
soon they're up on their feet,
always geting back up again,
rising each time, and never defeated,
while the wicked end up flat on their faces."

//Remix: The Message, Amplifed, New Century Version, Wycliffe Bible

-----

stumbling blocks are transformed into stepping stones, messes into a messages and testings into a testimonies -- this is truly a set up for a come back!

"there is no challenge too difficult, no obstacle too high, no sickness, no disappointment, no person, nothing that can keep you from your God-given destiny."

- J. Osteen

{ Undeserved. Pt 1. }

after serving with a mere year and a half, i would underservingly say that it was been an interesting journey that went beyond my wildest expecatation. to marvel at this prviledge, increases the value and excellence of serving our awesome God who has blessed us all with these gracious gifts to bring life, freedom, joy, music, praise, worship, singing and dancing in His very house.

finally came to a point of letting it all go and simply flowing with His unforced rhythyms of grace -- which is truly the best place to be. where self decreases and He increases, and where you find absolute rest and peace while riding out the waves of His favor and grace that keeps on coming -- and the latter wave is always greater than the former one.

this in turns brings all goodness and desires to fruition by His exaltation alone, and it goes to show that we are buildt not to show the glory of our own (as fleshly as it seems), not to show the glory of our best talents and gifts (as good as it seems or hears), but buildt to showcase the greatness of a true and faithful living God that none can ever compare.

"so blown away from You Dad, as there is truly none that can ever come even close to Your constant loving-kindness and grace. You went all out for us undeserving folks, blessed us beyond with Your very best You have amongst the galaxies, milkways and even heaven itself, and always thinking the world of us depite our sinful manner.

indeed You have a kingdom purpose for each and everyone of us, a purpose that slowly reveals itself daily in accordingly to Your beautiful time and plan. Dad, thank You, for all the great things you have done, and going to do. You simply amaze me every moment with Your love that never fails, and grace that always empowers.

my soul sings, how great thou art."

{ No Limits, Just Multiplication.. }

"Don't ever believe that you're not good enough.
God can take our limited abilities (our ordinary),
and turned them into something miraculous (extraordinary)."

- J. Osteen

with God, there are no limits, just multiplication.
He sees not the lack, but the present need.
what catches His eye, He does not ever forget.
so doubt not, for not only He gives but willing does so abundantly.
He does not do it according to our faith in Him, but His in us.
for He has made us His constant dwelling place, wherever He is, no good thing ever ceases.
it is always the case of more than enough, sufficient and how much more.
we're purely destined for His life to shine through us, destined to reign.

"greater is He, who lives in us.."
ordinary people, serving an extraordinary God.

{ Spiritually Deepened.. }

as i sit here behind the computer in bali, after an enlightening worth of events that has just happened, my heart has been enlarged, and there is a spiritually deepening that no longer stirs -- one i hope have an eternal and Kingdom effect.

what an undeserving privilege to be His vessel of grace and love to the unreached yet precious souls, whom He has not forgotten and have dearly written on His heart.

being compelled by The One who has relentlessly gave first, also sets a permanent transformation that is not attached to a feeling of good emotions but Spirit confirmation.

am going back permanently transformed for the King and His kingdom, experiencing yet another heart surgery. instead of anticipating and expecting, will restfully let Him do the moving -- and when He does, He is simply unstoppable.

waiting, and seeing what His story is going to make of. we're stepping so closely to our calling, destiny and desires sparking up. may this not be a distant in memory, but one that uplifts what He has faithfully and graciously called my mere being to move on this blue speck.

"fire fall down, fire fall down, on us we pray.."

{ Come Out of Your Tent - Ps. J. Smith }

"The Christian life was never meant to live from the perspective from earth to heaven, it as mean to live from heaven to earth."

"And when you aline your perspective with the Kingdom's perspective and King's point of view, there ain't no devil in hell to stop you."

"Lord enlarge our pyridine, enlarge our perspective, stretch us,  give us the courage to start saying crazy stuff."

"God: Here I am, I am Your gift."

"When you have come to a consolation in your vision and your destiny, and you are determined because nothing has happened up until this point, just simply hope for this one thing, the devil is a liar."

(it simply ain't over yet.)

"God comes down in our world,  and meets us at our limited context, and takes us, and pulls us outside."

{ Made for heaven. }

" In order to keep us from becoming too attached to this world,
God allows us to feel a certain amount of discontent.
we were made for heaven."

{ Yes, it's all about You. }

while on the keys, was just being so caught up in His presence, oh such freedom, such liberty, such love that satisfies. remembered what i wanted to ask of Him, how david was a man after God's heart, and how i long to be just that, so i uttered:

"God, what is on Your heart?"

thinking it would perhaps be His kingdom, revival on this land, making a difference, reaping in the lost to occupy His house, i wanted so earnestly for Him to reveal, and He simply said this:

"YOU."

i was so overwhelmed by that one word, and so He continued to wrap His arms of grace and love..
