.
1. The got to give approach
- "Well I got to give to God" (Like a tax bill)
- "If you don't, we won't"
- Like God is limited by our human decisions
- If the gift is given out of obligation, it is not very meaningful, and it won't be very consistent
- God doesn't desperately need what we have, we desperately need what He has
2. Give to get approach
- Using God as a robot, and Blessing becomes a formula
- "If you give God $100, He will multiply and make it $10,000"
- To really make God nothing more than a vending machine, when you put in this, and you get out that, that is a problem
- God does give to us when we give to Him - Is a promise, is the way He is, you sow and your reap, but when we make that the object of our giving, we miss the point
- Be a person who gets to give, not got to give
- "I get to do it"
- "It is a blessing to do it"
- "I'm proud to do it"
- "I am thankful to do it"
- "I love to do it"
