{ Repost: Father to the nations / Powerful People }

I always feel this tension between changing the world and hanging out with my family and friends. Of course...hanging out with the ones you love is changing the world. And when I travel, I end up building covenant relations all over the world and we become a family. So it's so confusing!

Personally, I love teaching, but my real passion is being a father to nations...which to me, means fathering those who are leading every realm of society.

There are so many warnings in my spirit in the midst of this pursuit; like remember the poor, make sure Jesus remains the center of my life, don't promote yourself, remember where you came from, keep your family first, the powerful are my friends NOT my identity, don't envy them, don't be intimidated by them, be yourself, use your couple of gifts to benefit them, ask for nothing in return, remember your not for sale at any price, protect your innocence...the list goes on and on in my mind.

Here are 5 things I have learn so far about powerful people;

1. They all long to be loved for who they are NOT for their fame or wealth.

2. They all want to know what God thinks of them (Yes even the atheist).

3. Everybody wants something from them, so they trust very few people.

4. Society exploits their weaknesses and therefore they have nowhere to get help for their issues.

5. Rarely do people have the courage to tell them the truth about their lives, so they become isolated from reality.
