{ Kupung Dec '10: Day #2 }

was awoken by the morning sun glaring at my sleepy eyes; wow so this was what five am looks like in Bali. got ready and made a cuppa as i got plugged into the Bible and Jesus Culture for an early starter. we did a little pow wow as a group declaring our desires of what we want to experience on the trip and then off to the airport we go.

the one and a half hour trip was bearable since i am lively (not deathly) afraid of flying, especially during take off -- oh, my, gosh. outside the arrival gates, we waited for Pa Alex who was late for the very first time and that marked out beginning of first timers. dropped our bags at Grace Home Stay, and was amazed that it was pelting outside and since it is summer, rain is highly treasured as it normally results in cool breezy weather.

our lunch plans were quickly altered when we found out that one of our fave place that sells Babi (smoked pork) was all pigged out hence we settled very well in our ox tail soup with fried chicken. Nita arrived half way and we were enjoying being reunited again before heading out separate ways to the 3 difference churches we will be preaching at.

after dropping Pa KH and Pa Lee (Dad) off, Nita, Eunice, Pa Alex (Supreman which is Driver in Bahasa) and I had a mini 45 minutes road trip (or so we thought) to our village which we later on realized the congregation went home early due to the bad weather conditions. another first time to be surprised with an empty church only consisting of the pastors whom we briefly connected with since they were in a middle of dinner.

wells at least the villages had both their short yet lasting spiritual and physical feeding which meant more rest for them when they get home. the lady whom informed us about it actually fell down when she saw a car pulling up. assuming it was us, she ran up and hammered her leg to the ground. was then led to pray for her but we did not have time so i just declared a healing and divine health sealing it with His name.

{ Kupung Dec '10: Day #1 }

there was two more hours to go before embarking on a second mission trip to Kupung with Dad and team and my bag was still sitting empty. MH called for the zillionth time asking if i'm all set and that motivated me to start shoving my items in, while she boasts of already packed and yet to add more in. this took a good ten to twenty minutes of effortless decisions of what and what not to bring which ended up with a good load in the end. and an extra ten minutes to bag up the load of clothes that my Partygirl with a heart of gold has blessed the kids with. gave Sam and Feebs some love and headed towards T1.

with everything all checked in, we fed our stomachs bursting of hunger pangs before our two and a half hour flight to Bali. did the usual prayer and hugs at the departure gate with Mum and off to gate 23 where we were introduced to Eunice, our newest edition. i'd my second life saver -- my iPhone; which was bombarded with Jesus Culture's 'Come Away', Hills Chapel's 'Yahweh' and two of my favorite preachers BJ and JP on flight mode to keep company. if my mouth and eyes hit boredom, there was always nerds and BH's book to entertain.

after praying viciously in tongues as the plane took off (yes, i'm healed of my fear of flying in Jesus name), i asked G for some enlightenment on what the people in Kupung needed to be imparted with as i took out my notebook and pen, hoping my hands would immediately do the working. instead He wanted me to be in a restful worship position, soaking in the soft chapel tunes. then His revelations started to flow in the middle of 'from the inside out' and there and then, scribbles started to form on the once blank pages.

five and a half pages of a titled message of 'God's best in your life', two bagful of peanuts and an empty box of nerds later, MH, Eunice and I were greeted by a friendly smile of a gorgeous blonde hair blue eyed russian girl, Evelina. we connected throughout the reminder of our flight despite the language barrier and she ended up refusing to be seated with her parents who were next to us. we held hands till we unboard the plane and bid her a goodbye hug, then headed to a long wait at the customs.

once our bags were collected, Daniel (our contact point in Bali) brought us to KFC and Maccas for a quick fix to our impatient stomachs before our final destination to our accommodation of a beautiful villa. our comfort was found in the spacious rooms, big head showers raining of warm water and an eyeful view of Bali enough to aid us to rest for our morning flight out to Kupung.

all He needs, is You.

He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.
So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest;
ask him to send more workers into his fields."

Matthew 9:37-38 (New Living Translation)

so what does it take to be a laborer for His kingdom?
how about love first, and preach later?

your qualifications does not simply rely on how good your message is,
how pros are your preaching skills,
or how well experienced you are on the field.

all He needs is a willing vessel and carrier of His heart.
it is you that He wants, is as simple as that.

we are all qualified missionaries able to go out there,
and create opportunities to infected people of His fiery love.

so love up a storm, and He will do the rest.

-----

**remember: we do not create the anointing,
it is the one who is in charge of the harvest.

Carrying The Father's Heart - Day #1

Last minute packing is always fun: Bible, Devo Book, iPhone, 7 Tops, 3 Tights, 1 Dress, 1 Shorts, 1 Bathers, 3 Shoes, Towel and Toiletries later,
Dad and I were ready to set off.
After waiting ever so patiently for someone’s arrival [cough: MH],
we finally checked in and grabbed a quick bite from downstairs.
Whilst everyone was full, my tummy disagreed and went on for red-bean paste pancakes; three to be exact.
With the excitement of being in T1 instead of budget birthed out the idea of duty free shopping. Unfortunately that did not come to pass and Dad’s pocket was fortunate enough due to time constraints.
Once the seat belt sign was off, i was off, off to Dad’s assigned seat at the back asking him for a couple of rupiah to settle the newly developed mild craving for dinner. Did not get the response which I usually receive from mum so I was sent away not pleased, and not fed.
In this case, (and the rest of them) Dad will succumb to my unreasonable whining and temper. But, I realized my childish manner and decided to tahan the two hours flight. Yes, something which was extremely un-doable at that time, especially dealing with the demands of my greediness.
Thought relying on my iPhone would help me focus off my hunger pangs. Unfortunately, it hanged on me. Two hours without music is a tragedy. How do I live? So out came the pen and notebook with a beginning question of: “God, what do you want me to speak about?” “LOVE!” He replied.
So what is love? How to we define love? How do we picture love? And from there the message of “God’s love” developed and shortly after, we were in Bali.
